Virginia F. (Young) “Ginny” Sullivan, of Venice, Fla., passed away recently at her seasonal home in Webster, Mass. She was 85.

Born in Concord, N.H., Ginny was the daughter of the late Gordon F. and Della M. (Gilpatrick) Young of Concord. A graduate of Concord High School’s class of 1959, Ginny earned her bachelor's degree from Keene State College and a master's degree in education from the University of Connecticut.

She married the love of her life, Gregory “Greg” Sullivan, in Concord in 1963. They built their life in Dudley, Mass., where they both pursued careers as educators. Ginny and Greg shared nearly 60 happy years of marriage before his death in 2022.

Ginny dedicated her life to nurturing the youngest minds. She loved teaching kindergarten in the Webster, Mass., public school district, where she served the community for decades. Outside of school, Ginny enjoyed sailing, golf, reading, and entertaining friends and neighbors. An avid traveler, she particularly enjoyed visiting Maine’s rocky coast. She was a longtime member of Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass. In later years, Ginny enthusiastically took up bocce ball in her local community in Venice.

She is survived by her sister, Marguerite A. (Young) Grappone of Concord, and her nephews, Mark, Anthony, and Jeffrey Grappone.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 11th, at 10 AM at Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord, NH.
