Susan Lee (Schiltgen) Johnson, aged 78, passed away peacefully on 1/21/2025, at her home in Bow, New Hampshire.  Sue and her husband, Dave, lived in Bow since September, 1995.  Sue was born on May 16th, 1946, in St. Paul, MN to Edward (Butch) Schiltgen and Marguerite (Dietz) Schiltgen and was raised on the family farm in Lake Elmo, MN.  Sue met her husband, David Johnson, in the summer of 1966, just months after his release from active duty with the U.S. Army.  Susan and Dave started their family in No. St. Paul, MN with the birth of Son, Nathan in 1972.  Shortly thereafter, Susan and Dave moved to Washington D.C. where daughter, Dara, was born in 1976.  From there they moved several times with Dave's job from Washinton DC to Butler, PA, then to Salisbury, NC; Pella IA; back to Lake Elmo, MN in 1984 and finally to Bow, NH in 1995.

Sue's great love throughout her adult life was gardening.  Susan won many awards for her flower arrangements including a "Best In Show" award from the renowned Boston Flower Show and many others from several venues across New England.  In addition, Sue became an active Flower Show Judge, which she enjoyed, and which activity was only exceeded by her other great passion:  teaching and learning from her children and grandchildren.

Susan is preceded in death by her son, Nathan and parents, Edward and Marguerite (Dietz) Schiltgen and is survived by her husband, David; Daughter, Dara; Grandchildren, Melanie, Jasmine, Abigail, Ella, and Hazel; Great Grandchildren Nolan and Gweneth; Sisters Joanne, Nancy and Mary; Brother, Brice; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

We are planning to honor our Dear, Dear Susan at her home in Bow after the snow goes away.  Please consider donation, in lieu of flowers, to the American Cancer Society.
