Obituary

Ronald Joseph Subler, age 72 of Hopkinton, NH passed away at 5:00 A.M. on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. Ron was born November 12, 1941 in Frenchtown, Ohio to the late Cecelia Margaret (Barga) Subler and the late Bernard Franklin Subler.

Ron was awarded a full 5 year scholarship to MIT in Cambridge, MA where he received a Master's degree in Management in 1964.

He was a management consultant and for many years worked as a principal at Harbridge House in Boston eventually leading the London branch. He also co-founded "The Company" and was key to its success.

Ron had a sincere love of family and was involved in activities that were shared with his grandchildren. "Star Trek" movie nights were especially prized. He provided a warmhearted example of his love for animals by rescuing several kittens and dogs – one of which required a high level of care for epilepsy. He was a big fan of good food, classical & country music especially Johnny Cash & Willie Nelson. His interests included model railroading and the study of guns and target practice. He loved gardening and had an extensive collection of hostas. Ron had spent time sailing the ocean and proudly showing photos of these adventures. In his less active moments, no one could beat Ron's abilities in solving brain teasers, board games and puzzles. He was unbeatable at Scrabble.

Ron is survived by his sweetheart of 26 years, Marie Gouin, his son, John Subler and his wife and Joanne Lynch; and by his daughter Dianne and her husband Glenn Carey all from New Hampshire; 4 grandchildren; Jennifer Subler, Joshua Subler, Noah Carey and Patrick Carey; and Daisy, his constant canine companion. His sisters, brothers and in-laws George & Kathy Subler, Joan & Jerry Knapke, William & Mary Subler, and Jayne & Mike Schlater.
