Robert A.
King
January 3, 1951 – May 23, 2023
Robert A. King, 71, of Kingsland, Ga., passed away May 23, 2022 at UF Health North, Jacksonville, Fla.
A New Hampshire native, he was born in Concord on Jan. 3, 1951, to the late Edward S. King Jr. and Anne (Gilleran) King. A graduate of Bishop Brady High School, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1969-1973. Upon returning from Vietnam, he met his wife of over 48 years, Leslie Ann (Selander) King, also a veteran, in Newport, R.I. After living in Concord, N.H., for nearly 20 years, Bob and Leslie have called Kingsland home since 1993.
Bob, Bobby, Mr. King, Dad, Rooster, Uncle Bob, Grampa, GGPop, or that guy with the red hair will always be known for his zest for the simple pleasures (thunder and lightning storms and big-screen TVs) and the ability to yield to the whim of those he loved. Never one to be overbearing, he still controlled every situation with his uncontainable positivity and charisma. Bob never met a stranger and extended his hand to every person, dog, cat, bird, fish, salamander, and creature he met with respect and kindness.
He is survived by his wife; his three children, Heather (King) Ringwald of Concord, N.H., Donovan King of Claremont, N.H., and Chrystal King of Kingsland, Ga.; his grandchildren, Jayce Ringwald, Damian Ringwald, Kaedance Ringwald, and Alanna King; his great-granddaughter, Zoe; his siblings, Edward King of Amherst, N.H.; John King of Grand Ledge, Mich.; Leanne Mortell of Unity, N.H.; and Kathleen Masterman of Milton, N.H.; and his dog, Major.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 2nd from 10 am to 11 AM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH.
Followed by a memorial service @ 11 AM in the chapel of the Waters Funeral Home. Rev. Terry Odell will officiate.
Burial will be on Tuesday, September 5th at 3 PM at the NH Veterans Cemetery, DW Highway, Boscawen, NH
In lieu of flowers, please take every opportunity to say "I love you," and donations can be made to your local Humane Society or the Humane Society of Camden County, Ga.
