Obituary

Richard Leonard Marden, 89, of Bow, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 21, 2025. He was born on February 12th, 1936 in Concord, New Hampshire to Robert Marden and Florence (Lanzo) Marden. Richard graduated from Concord High School in 1954 and The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1958.

Richard dedicated his life to serving others through his work as a pharmacist. Over the years, he contributed to the well-being of his community while employed at Muro Pharmaceuticals, the State of New Hampshire Hospital, Prescription Center, Osco, CVS, Rite Aid and Dooner Labs. Beyond his professional life, Richard was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the Eagles, Christ the King Parish, and Immaculate Heart of Mary, exemplifying his commitment to Faith and service.

Richard enjoyed gourmet food, especially if it was Italian pasta, fine wines, traveling, reading books, his collections and attending church.  In his final year he never complained, loved his privacy and solitude and always had a polite thank you.

He is survived by his brother, Allen Marden of Melbourne, Florida, five children, Richard Lloyd Marden, Kevin Marden of Bow, NH, Brian Marden and his wife Christina (Hatch) Marden of Allenstown, NH, Bruce Marden of Manchester, NH, and Lynda Marden and her fiancée Jim Correll of Concord, NH. Richard also leaves behind three grandchildren, Vanessa (Chesley) Perkins and her husband Travis Perkins of Concord, NH, Heather Marden of Conway, NH, and Rachel Marden of Fulton, New York, as well as four great-grandchildren, Landon Miner, Kaydence Miner, Weston Miner and Brenna Perkins of Concord, NH. He will be missed by his extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers, Doug Marden and Anthony Marden and Richards former wife and mother to his children, the late Katherine Virginia Marden.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to caring staff at Home Instead and Lily Care Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.  Richards primary caregiver and daughter-in-law Christina (Hatch) Marden devoted her unconditional love, care, guidance and support when no one else could.
