Richard Ciarla

Concord – Richard Ciarla, 87, formerly of Hillcrest Avenue, died Monday, December 30, at Concord Hospital. Richard had been residing at Harris Hill Nursing Home for the last seven years.

Richard was born in Concord on August 27, 1926, the son of the late Ricardo and Angelina (Fini) Ciarla and husband of the late Eunice (McGinn) Ciarla. He left high school during World War II to join the United States Navy serving on a PT boat, and then returned to school graduating from Concord High School class of 1947. Richard was employed at the U.S. Postal Service (for 33 years) until his retirement at the age of 55. Richard married his wife, Eunice in St. Peter's church in 1949 celebrating 60 years of marriage at the time of Eunice's passing in 2009.

Richard was an avid golfer and a long time member of the Beaver Meadow Golf Course. One of his proudest achievements was golfing in a charity tournament in New Orleans, playing on a foursome with pro golfer Nick Faldo.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Eunice, Richard was predeceased by his brother, Mario and his twin sister, Laura Griswold. Surviving members of his family include his son, Barry Moller, daughter-in-law, Michele LeBrun Moller, and his beloved granddaughter, Jessica Moller of Dunbarton, NH and three loving nieces, Rebecca Hall of Atkinson, NH, Roberta Fitzsimmons of Elkton, Florida and Gail Griswold of St. Augustine, Florida.

Richard's family wishes to thank the staff at Harris Hill Nursing Home for the wonderful care, love and happiness they gave him while he was a resident.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH and funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 135 North State Street, Concord, NH.
