It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Raymond Peter D’Amante, a man of boundless love, generosity and brilliance. Ray was born on March 16, 1943 and passed away peacefully in his home in Sunapee surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 2, 2026.
Ray was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of the late Armante R. and Ida M. (Paveglio) D’Amante. Ray was an engineer, a lawyer and a musician, and he shared his knowledge and talents with an unwavering energy in the service of his family, his community and his country.
Ray’s legacy of empathy, courage and curiosity will forever be an inspiration to all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Ray served proudly in the Air Force while supporting his young family and continued his service to the community throughout his life. Ray was so grateful for all the opportunities he had, and we are most proud of his commitment to education through his service on countless boards and organizations to further the cause of opportunity for all. Ray loved his family, friends and community with such enduring passion, and we believe the greatest tribute each of us can give to Ray is to pay his generosity forward to others.
Ray will be forever missed but never forgotten. We thank everyone who contributed to the endless happiness of Ray’s wonderful life.
Ray is survived by his loving wife, Cinda (Saeger) D’Amante of Sunapee; his sons, Richard D’Amante of Salem, and Michael D’Amante and his partner Mindunn Rose of New London; his daughter, Dannalea D’Amante and her husband Jason Levin of Pomfret, VT; his grandson, Zack Walters of California; his sisters, Christine Bartlett of Bow, and Linda Dragon of Concord; his brother in law, Mark Saeger of Bahrain; and his sisters in law, Laura Seager of North Carolina, and Donna Spargo of New Mexico.
Ray is also survived by the loving memory of his son, Tony D’Amante, who lives forever in our hearts.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother in law Mack Saeger.
Visiting Hours will be held on Monday, November 9th from 4 to 7 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH. We cherish the presence of all who knew Ray to join us in honoring his life.
A private funeral service will be held.
