Philip "Pike" Colgan
Concord – Philip "Pike" Colgan, age 82, of Bow Street, passed away on Monday December 30, 2013 at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Concord one of 7 children of Philip and Cesarie (Roy) Colgan. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Concord High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army.
He worked in the Composing Room for the Manchester Union Leader for over 30 years before retiring.
Philip enjoyed gardening, football, baseball, and hockey. In 2011 he was inducted into the NH Hockey Legends Hall of Fame.
Philip was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilyn (Reid) Colgan; his son Brian Colgan; and his daughter Deborah Gendron; his brothers and sisters, Leonard, Louis, Paul, Helen and Irene Colgan.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Dan Colgan of Concord, Philip Colgan of Honolulu, HI; 2 daughters, Diane French and her husband Gary of Bow, and Karen Stewart and her husband Brian of Concord; 9 grandchildren, Matthew Colgan, Thomas, Lauren and Rachel Vaughan, Megan and Jonathan French, Brett, Ian and Emma Stewart; his brother Bernard Colgan of Concord; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, January 5th from 3 to 6 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6th at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church 52 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH.
Burial will follow at the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
