Concord - Peter Notides, 84, a longtime resident of Penacook passed away suddenly on May 25, 2013.
He was born in Labove, North Epirus, Greece the son of the late Christopher and Androniki (Barouti) Notides. He came to the United States as a teenager and graduated from Concord High School. He was a US Army Veteran and served in Panama during the Korean War with the 88th Army Infantry Unit. In recent years he enjoyed attending their annual reunions in addition to bus trips with the Penacook Senior Center.
He retired from Elektrisola Inc in Boscawen, and had worked at the Fiber Mill in Penacook in addition to working along side of his father, Christopher at the Ideal Market on South Street.
He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Concord, and the Penacook American Legion Post 31.
Peter will be remembered as a kind sensitive man with a wonderful sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Exerina L. Notides who passed away in 2007.
Peter is survived by his brother, William Notides and his sister, Catherine Notides Walker both of Concord; his two aunts in North Epirus, Magdalini Noti and Fotini Qiro and his godson, Mark Lessard of Concord, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday (5/30) from 10 -11 am the Holy Trinity Church Greek Orthodox Church, 68 North State Street, Concord.
Funeral services will follow at 11 am at the Greek Orthodox Church. The Very Reverend Fr. Agathonikos M. Wilson will officiate.
Burial will be in the Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord immediately following the funeral service.
