Merville Ray
Lucier
January 14, 1941 – August 3, 2022
M Ray Lucier, 81, of Concord, NH (formally of the planet ͏O͏r͏g) passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Wednesday August 3, 2022 at the Granite VNA Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. A life long resident of Concord, Ray was born on January 14, 1941 to the late Elizabeth Blodgett Lucier and Raymond H Lucier.
From a young age, Ray spent many summers helping at his grandparents farm where he developed an appreciation for hard work and serving others that would stay with him for the rest of his life.
Upon graduating from Concord High School in 1959, Ray joined the Navy where he served aboard the USS Essex aircraft carrier. Ray had fond memories of his time and was grateful to travel through Europe and the Mediterranean, but was happy to return home to the woman who became his life long travel companion and wife, Nancy. Ray and Nancy began dating when they were 16 and 14 years old, respectively, and were married on April 7, 1962 at the United Baptist Church of Concord.
Ray became a proud member of the Concord Fire Department where he served his community doing what he loved, for 20 years. Upon his retirement, he went to work for Capital Dodge for many years even after it became Mariano's, which also explains all the Jeeps in the family.
Ray, along with his wife Nancy, once reflected "All of the important milestones we've gone through in life we've gone through together " and together they created a beautiful family.
Ray is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Nancy Dearborn Lucier as well as a sister, Carolyn Triacca and her husband James.
He also leaves behind his 3 children whom he loved and adored.
Son Scott Lucier and his wife Christa Lucier of Attleboro, MA and children Justin and Allison, Daughter Michele (Lucier) Owen-Koch and her husband Jess Koch of Goffstown, NH and children Cameron Owen and Joshua Owen, Son Christopher Lucier and his wife Kristina Lucier of Concord NH and children Riley, Maija, Teegan and Lydia (Phelps).
He also leaves behind 3 nephews.
Our family would like to thank the Granite VNA Home Hospice and the Hospice House for their compassionate care that Ray was given over these last few months.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
