Melody Benson
Concord – Melody Benson, age 67, of Dawn Drive passed away on Monday 5/13 at her home.
She was born in Nashua, NH 1 of 18 children of the late Robert and Gertrude (Landry) Hawkes. She was a graduate of Penacook High School.
Melody worked for many years as a Waitress at Havenwood Health Care and Veno's Italian Kitchen. She was a loving mother and grandmother always taking care of everyone's needs before her own. She loved spending time at the beach, taking trips to Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods. She was an excellent cook, and loved her cat Firby. Melody was very proud of her Grandson Michael for just becoming a Marine. She was a very active supporter of St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James Benson of Concord; and 2 sons, Gary Scott Benson and Anthony James Benson both of Concord; 3 grandchildren, Anthony Scott Benson, Michael Ryan Benson, and Mia McCallum Benson; and 15 brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday 5/17 at 6 PM in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
