Obituary

Mary Gail (Barrett) MacInnis, 92, of Concord, NH passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Havewood Heritage Heights surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 27, 1933 in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Charles and Alice (Scanlon) Barrett and was raised in New Bedford MA. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1951 and attended Hesser College in Manchester, NH.

Gail moved her family to Pembroke, NH in 1967. She worked at Sprague Electric for many years during the 1970's, and then for the NH Department of Education. In 1983, she moved to Titusville, FL and went to work with the space shuttle program at the Kennedy Space Center where she was part of numerous launches. She returned to NH in 1996 and went to work for the NH Department of Health and Human Services.

She enjoyed golfing with her many friends and family. She won the McHugh Classic golf tournament, woman division, most years. She also enjoyed quilting and jig saw puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Gail was predeceased by husbands, Raymond J. McHugh, and Manson (Mac) MacInnis; her siblings Joan Shields, Charles Barrett, Elizabeth Oswald, and Andrew Barrett; her son Bruce McHugh, daughters Susan Pelissier and Shirley Ferazzi; and grandson Brian McHugh, Jr.

She is survived by her sister Christine McCaw and her husband Donald of Harrison, ID; her children Steven McHugh of Henniker, NH, Brian McHugh and his wife Wendy of Wolfeboro, NH, Patricia Lambert and her husband Donald Davis of Dunbarton, NH, Douglas McHugh of East Greenwich, RI, Sheila Bernier and her husband Timothy of Concord, NH, and William McHugh and his wife Michelle of Northfield, NH; ten grandchildren Mark, Kyle, Michael, Joseph, Nicholas, Chad, Broc, Nathan, Ryan and Matthew; and ten great grandchildren Madelynne, Emma, Phoenix, Tyger, Harry, Adelaide, Emilee, Leanna, Mara and Elliott; special nephew Bill Barrett and his family of Litchfield, NH; and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Havenwood community for the exceptional care that she received during her time in the community. Their dedication and compassion will always be remembered.

A visiting hour will be held Saturday January 17 from 11am to 12pm at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main St. Concord.

A memorial service will follow at 12pm in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gail's name to a charity of your choice.
