Marjorie Ann
(Brewster) Gordon
March 1, 1931 – October 25, 2023
Marjorie A. Gordon of Concord, NH passed away on October 25, 2023.
Mickey, as she was known to many, was born March 1, 1931 in Medford, MA to James H. Brewster, Jr. of Medford and Helena E. (Adams, born in PEI, Canada) - Marjorie was the 6th of their 12 children.
Marjorie leaves behind three sons; Gary M. (Gail) of Concord, Dale R. (Julie) of Palm Coast, FL, Kevin D. (Madeleine) of Francestown, and daughter-in-law Michele (Gordon) Woonton of Pelham. She leaves eight very special grandchildren; Rob, Taylor, Ashley, Jeff, Jean-Luc, Krista, Janelle and Kaleigh; great-grandchildren Amber, Caleb, Molly, Chloe and Lyla; great-great grandchild, Ronan; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her siblings, Elaine Connors of NY, David E. (Kathy) of MA, and John R. (Peggy) of SC, and brother-in-law Ed Marks of MA.
Marjorie was predeceased by her youngest son, Dean B. Gordon in 2010 of cancer; her loving husband of 66 years, Capt. Robert M. Gordon (US Army, Ret.) in 2014, and eight of her siblings.
Marjorie graduated from Medford High School in 1948 and shortly after she met and married Robert Gordon. Little did she know at the time, that for the next sixteen years she and her family would travel the world. Overseas assignments for the family included tours in Okinawa, France, and Eritrea, Africa which gave them all a chance to visit many other countries. Between Robert's overseas assignments they lived on many Stateside Army bases.
After Robert's retirement from the Army in 1965, they settled in Pelham, NH. Marjorie went to work for Sears and Roebuck for 27 years and after they both retired, they moved to Bethlehem, NH.
It seemed that the travel bug had not finished with them yet. Though home was in NH they started wintering in FL, cruising the Islands, and took trips all over the country to attend reunions, and visit family and friends. For a number of years, they took summer vacations to PEI and Nova Scotia, to visit family and friends they had in Canada.
In 2015, Marjorie moved to Concord to be closer to her family though she still took trips to FL and SC.
Mickey remembered fondly her outings with family when they went roller skating, ice skating and skiing together. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining family and friends, reading, doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles, corresponding on the computer, working on family genealogy, but most of all - family gatherings especially in her role as "Nana" with her extended family.
Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be no viewing or services at the funeral home as is her wish. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a brief service and interment at the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, in Boscawen, NH on October 31, 2023 at 12 noon. A reception will follow the service at Alan's Restaurant at 133 North Main Street, Boscawen, NH.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or charity of your choice.
