Obituary

Bow – Marina J. Johnson 76, of Bow, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer, passed away peacefully, Wednesday January 18, 2017surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her husband Carl, her parents Victor and Eleanor (Palisi) McFaul, and a son-in-law Dana Barker. She was born in Concord and graduated from St. John's High School in 1958. Marina's working career started with Mohicans, Champagnes Market, Stop and Shop, and State of NH Agencies, Employment Security and Health and Human Services. In the spirit of adventure, Marina and her husband Carl purchased Magalloway Cabins in Pittsburg NH located on the First Connecticut Lake.

After her husband passed away in 1993, Marina continue running the business for ten years. When she sold the business, she moved back to Bow. Not being one to sit idle, she worked in the Bow High School cafeteria where she enjoyed seeing her grandsons and their friends. Marina had many passions, cooking meals for family and friends, and making special wedding and birthday cakes. She enjoyed life. whether playing cards with friends, crafting, writing letters to friends in Hawaii, Florida or Arizona, she always kept active and had a smile on her face.

Marina believed in giving back to her community and her many years of volunteering was with the Bow Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary starting in the early 1970's. She also ushered for the Capital Center for the Arts, and assisted her daughters with their Girl Scout Troops as a scout leader.

Marina is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Boyd, and her husband, Richard, of Bow; and Sonja Barker, of Bow. Three grandsons, Richard Boyd III, and his wife Lisbett, of Manchester, Bryan Barker, and Kevin Barker of Bow. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Respecting Marina's wishes, there are no calling hours planned. Services will be private for her immediate family and burial will be at Blossom Hill Cemetery. Assisting the family with arrangement is Water's Funeral Home. To view Marina's book of memories, go to www.watersfuneralhomeconcord.com

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Concord Hospital, NH Oncology, Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and the Concord Regional Visiting Nurses.
