Margaret Mary
Halm
May 24, 1936 – July 26, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Mary Halm (Price), who left this world peacefully on July 26th 2025 . Born on May 24, 1936, in Dublin, Ireland. Margaret, known to those that loved her as "Peg" or "Peggy", was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her.
Peggy grew up on Balscadden Road, overlooking the Irish Sea, in beautiful Howth, Ireland where she had a view of "Irelands Eye" which was a place she visited often by row boat. It was at a dance in Ireland that she met her future husband, Bill, who was there on holiday. A moment that would lead to a wonderful 62 year marriage filled with love and laughter. She embarked on a new adventure when she moved to the United States to marry and build a life and family with Bill. One of their favorite places to visit together was Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine.
As the daughter of Michael ("Mick") Price and Peig ("Peg") Price (Delaney), Peggy was the youngest of four siblings, cherished by her brothers Colm and Cathal, and her sister Maura. She was a devoted mother to her children, Ian and Aileen, and a proud grandmother to her five grandchildren: Jack, Devin, Ryan, Sabine, and Vincent. Her family was her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in nurturing their dreams and celebrating their achievements.
Peggy's talents were many; she was a talented knitter and baker known for her delicious scones that brought comfort and joy to family gatherings. Her green thumb transformed her garden into a vibrant oasis, where flowers bloomed as beautifully as her spirit. She always had a sparkle in her bright blue eyes, which complemented her delightful Irish brogue. She had a keen fashion sense and always loved shopping for the latest styles.
In her early years, Peggy worked at the Irish Sweepstakes in Dublin, Ireland, a job that sparked her love for community and connection. She later brought her passion for knitting to a shop in Sioux City, Iowa. When she and her family moved to NH, she worked as a supervisor at Sprague Electric Company in Concord. After retiring, Peggy dedicated her time to her 5 grandchildren and volunteering, sharing her compassion and kindness at The Peabody Nursing Home and Merrimack County Nursing Home. She also served her church as a greeter and at the church thrift store, embodying the spirit of service and generosity.
Her loving family she leaves behind include her husband Bill, her brother Father Cathal Price of Kilbarrack Co. Dublin, Ireland, her son Ian Halm and his wife Jess of Campton, daughter Aileen Philbrick and her husband Tom of Concord, grandchildren Jack Philbrick, Devin Philbrick, Ryan Philbrick, Sabine Halm and Vincent Halm. She was pre-deceased by her parents Michael and Peig Price, her brother Colm Price, her Sister Maura Crowley (Price) and infant son Neil who died at birth.
Peggy's life was one of love, resilience, and unwavering support for her family and friends. How lucky we have been to have had her in our lives. She will be dearly missed by all. Her spirit will live on forever in those who loved her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Thursday July 31st at 10 am at Christ the King Parish/St. John's
Burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH.
