Weare -Joyce Ann Lanier, age 70, passed away suddenly on September 16, 2024 at her home.

She was predeceased by her late husband, Mark Lanier, who passed away in 2023.

She was born in Lowell, MA, the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Melanson) Googins. She attended Lowell and Dracut High Schools and went on to Castle College and then Lesley College where she obtained her bachelor's degree in human services. She had a passion for helping others and worked with many different non profit organizations over her career. Joyce was very dedicated and was an advocate for many different people in need in her lifetime.

Joyce loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandsons. She had many friends that she met along the way, many who became family. She spent a lot of her time scrapbooking and remembering time she cherished throughout the years.

She is survived by her son, Scott Lanier of New London; her daughter, Carrie Cokely of Manchester; her grandsons, Miles and Benjamin Lanier of Weare, Her 3 sisters, Gerry Desrochers of Atkinson, Nancy Berube of Ipswich, MA and Carol Naughton of Nashua; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 26th from 4 to 7 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
