Obituary

Jacquelyn Justine Philbin Greene of Penacook, NH died on October 30, at home. Though unexpected, her death was peaceful and occurred with the loving presence of her daughter and a close friend.

Jacquie was born on July 27, 1943, in Flushing, NY into the family of James and Lorraine Philbin and often enjoyed reminiscing about the experiences from her childhood growing up in North Andover with her brother Jay, RIP, and sister Mary Lou. She Graduated from North Andover High School and went on to attend Nathaniel Hawthorne College where she met the love of her life, the handsome Anthony "Tony" Greene and the two were married on June 7, 1964. Through their 60 years of marriage, Jacquie and Tony raised their family and became loved and respected long-time members of the community of Penacook.

Jacquie enjoyed several careers in her life and is known locally by many who remember her warm, welcoming, and commanding personality from her time working as a store manager at Vet's Market. Later, she turned her passion for antiques into a career as a manager at Concord Antiques where she met a community of longtime friends. Her garden was a reflection of her loving heart and her appreciation for small details. She could often be found "inspiring" Tony or her trusted friend to help make her vision a reality for all to enjoy. A place of peace and beauty.

Jacquie's biggest joy was loving and caring for her immediate and extended family. She was the heart of the family and always a source of strength and support right up to her very last moment. While growing up, her grandchildren coined the phrase "Nanaland" and they continue to laugh together about the fun they had spending time with their grandmother whose pancakes will never be forgotten. Her surviving sibling, Mary Lou, was a confidante and comrade in life and held a special place in Jacquie's heart until her passing.

People were drawn to Jacquie's caring and fun-loving heart and she was blessed to have had frequent contact with her many friends. She felt privileged to have had a few close friendships that flourished and deepened throughout all the seasons of her life. Regardless of how long the friendship was, she was happy and grateful for every call, visit, and adventure.

In addition to her beloved Tony, Jacquie is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Philbin-Clarke of Loudon, NH; her daughter Cheryl Twombly and her husband Brian of Londonderry, NH; her son, Marc and his wife Lisa of Tilton, NH along with her adored grandchildren; Erin Twombly, Drew Twombly, and Christopher Twombly; and Janel Greene, Cody Greene and her great-granddaughter Aubree Greene.

There will be no services at this time. A celebration of this wonderful life will be held at a future time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jacquie's memory can be made to the Concord SPCA  Pope Memorial SPCA, 94 Silk Farm Road, Concord, NH 03301
