Obituary

Gail was peacefully ushered into the glorious presence of her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 12, 2026.

Gail Holder, 92, of Bow, NH, was born in March of 1934, in Massachusetts, the daughter of George S. and Lydia M. Flint. She graduated from Billerica Memorial High School (formerly Howe High School) in Billerica, MA and Barrington College in Rhode Island in 1955 where she studied Missions and Music. Gail loved basketball and played on the team at Barrington College. Even though she was short in stature, she was a sure shot and fast on her feet.

She was a wonderful, loving wife to her husband, the Rev. Walter S. Holder, Jr., who went home to be with the Lord in 2003. Gail and Wally served together at Frenchtown Baptist Church, East Greenwich, R.I. until 1962, Groton Heights Baptist Church, Groton, CT, from 1963 to 1969, and the First Baptist Church (now CenterPoint Church) of Concord, NH from 1970 to 1992. She was Wally’s executive secretary at First Baptist Church and Conservative Baptist of the Northeast.

Gail was a caring, loving mother who sacrificed for her two children. She was a Proverbs 31 woman and worked tirelessly to provide a comfortable, nurturing home for her family.

Gail loved music, studied piano in Boston, and sang the contralto solos in the Messiah performance at Barrington College in her senior year. She served extensively in music ministries, singing solos, duets and trios, directing the adult choir as well as playing the piano for congregational singing and the choir when she wasn’t directing. She taught music at Concord Christian School.

Gail accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Saviour at a Good News Bible Club at her home in Billerica at a young age. From that day forward, she was deeply rooted in her faith and trust in Jesus and boldly shared the Gospel and the love of Jesus with as many people who would listen. She found joy, hope and peace in prayer, and was passionate about studying Scriptures. She was the Teaching Director at Community Bible Study in Concord, NH for over 11 years. She was a wonderful Bible teacher, taught Sunday School and mentored many women throughout her life. Gail had a deep love for Israel and visited more than a dozen times leading tours of the Holy Land with in-depth devotionals and Bible teachings. She also served on the Board of Directors for New Hampshire Gospel Radio., WVNH 91.1.

Gail loved gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was a master cookie baker and decorator. She was well-known for hosting lavish Christmas cookie parties for her church and community with over 30 diverse kinds of cookies from all over the world.

Family members include her son, Stephen M. Holder of Pennington Gap, VA and his wife, Carol; her daughter, Cheryl J. Holder Eggert of Bow and her husband, Dean; three grandchildren, David J. Holder, Daniel J. Holder and Lauren E. Eggert Armstrong, 7 great grandchildren, her brother George Timothy Flint of Chelsea, MI and his wife, Judy.
