PENACOOK – Elizabeth Helene (King) Lafond, 88 years old, left this world peacefully Friday, October 17, 2014 with her family by her side.
She was born May 6, 1926 in Concord, the daughter of the late George and Exilda King. She was a graduate of St. John's High School. She spent many years as an employee of the City of Concord until her retirement. Her joy in life was her beloved husband of 67 years, and her children and grandchildren. She loved to sing and had the voice of an angel. Her songs will forever remain in our hearts.
She and her husband moved to Florida where they spent many happy years before returning to New Hampshire to be closer to their family. She brought much happiness and laughter to her family and was always there with a warm hug and a kiss.
She leaves her children Robert and Jeanne Lafond of Loudon, Betty Jean and Harry Shufelt of Loudon, Judy and Jon Lang of Penacook, James Lafond of Penacook, and Dale Lafond of Penacook; 10 grandchildren, Jeff, Craig, and Troy Wilcox, Robert, Ben, Bryan, Jared and Joseph Lafond, Jonathan, and Joshua Lang and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Robert she was predeceased by two beloved sons, Gary and Barry P. Lafond, three sisters Rae, Evelyn, and Beatrice, four brothers, Augustin, Arthur, Joseph, and Herbert, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, October22nd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday October 23rd at 1 PM. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 72 South Main Street.
Burial will follow in the Calvary cemetery in Concord.
