Obituary

Elizabeth "Liz" Bailey BonGiorno, 62, of Concord, NH, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, surrounded by those she loved most in the world.

Though born in New London, CT, on May 21, 1963, Liz lived and loved her life in Concord. She took her greatest pride in raising her three daughters, Molly, Emma, and Hannah, alongside her husband Mitchell, "Mitch" BonGiorno, who stood by her side for 25 years before passing away in 2014.

Liz spent many years as a school bus driver for the Concord School District, before finding her truest happiness in the work she performed in the Nutrition Departments at Catholic Medical Center, and Elliot Hospital.

When not working, Liz loved to show off her creative side, taking on new projects any time she got the chance. She was famous for her Destination Imagination hats, wall hangings, quilts, and the pajama pants she made for her daughters many Christmases in a row.  She had a great fondness for sewing, cross stitching, reading, and most of all, any type of shoe that was Crocs brand. Her collection of Crocs amassed more than 80 pairs that she proudly displayed on her Croc wall.

More than anything else, Liz's greatest joys in life were the roles she took on as a wife and a mother. She met the love of her life, Mitch, at the former Concord restaurant, Pizza Wheels, in May of 1988, wearing what she called his "pirate shirt." Five years older than Mitch, she was, in her own words, a cougar. After just two weeks of dating, they were engaged, but managed to hold off on their wedding ceremony until June of 1989. They spent the next 25 years spreading their infectious joy and love that grew only greater with the welcome of their three "girly-q's."

As a mother Liz was devoted, compassionate, loving, and hilarious. She poured her entire soul into raising her daughters to help them become strong, independent, and ready to take on the world. She rejoiced any time her three girls were together, and loved nothing more than getting to spend time with them as a family.

Liz BonGiorno was a titanic force of a woman, who brought joy and laughter every place she went. To know her was to love her, because to do anything but was impossible.

Liz is survived by her daughters, Molly BonGiorno (John Watson), Emma BonGiorno (Eric Baker), and Hannah BonGiorno; sisters, Susan Bailey, and Jeanne Bailey Clemans (Cecilia Clemans); brother, Jon Bailey; nephews, Evan Bailey and Owen Bailey Clemans; in-laws, Vince and Jackie Bonjorno, Tony Bonjorno and Marc Willis.

Liz was predeceased by her parents, Maxine Bailey and William Bailey (Alice), and the love of her life, Mitch BonGiorno.
