Eleanor Roosa Stanley daughter of the late Lester and Margaret (Halliday) Roosa passed away on August 1, 2014 at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord NH, surrounded by her family and friends.

Eleanor was born on January 9, 1939 in Kingston, NY and grew up in Stone Ridge, NY.
In 1960 she graduated from the State University of NY at Plattsburg with a degree in elementary education. Eleanor taught Elementary School and then became a substitute teacher, leaving full time teaching to have a family.
Eleanor married Robert F. Stanley in Stone Ridge, NY on July 1, 1961. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2011 with a party of family and friends.
During their first seven years of marriage they lived in Glenn Falls, NY. In 1968 the family moved to Swanzey Center, NH. They have been living in Bow since 1987.

Eleanor leaves behind her husband, Bob Stanley of Bow, and three children. Richard Stanley and his wife Barbara of Lempster, NH. Dana Stanley and his wife Heidi of New York, NY. Elizabeth (Stanley) O'Brien and her husband Michael of S. Windsor, CT. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Robbie, Chelsea and Stephen Stanley, Megan and Nathan O'Brien and one step grandson, Rafael daSilva. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her two brothers, John and Donald.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to vacation on the coast of Maine, especially Ogunquit. She also enjoyed playing bridge and doing crossword puzzles.

A Memorial Visiting hour will be held at 10AM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.

A memorial service will follow at 11 AM in the chapel of the Waters Funeral Home.
