Obituary

Eleanor (Lanza) Hodgkins "Little E"  was born on January 16, 1922 in Concord, New Hampshire and resided there her entire life. She went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2025. She was of the Catholic faith and became saved through confession of Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved her family; a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family before herself. She was persistent in prayer for her family and quickly would proclaim that God helped her through the tough times of her life.
She was in the graduating class of 1939 at Concord High School. She worked for the State of NH at The Department of Employment Security for 45 years. She enjoyed sewing; often making her own clothes and costumes for others. She enjoyed volunteering at Dame School where her grandson attended; she loved helping the children. She learned to stencil and embellished the walls in her home. She enjoyed making things for people; knitting, crocheting or painting. In her younger years, she enjoyed going to the beach. She loved to dance and sing. She was an avid Red Sox baseball fan. She traveled to various countries and to several states in the U.S. A surprising thing that happened was that a hot air balloon landed on her property and they graciously allowed her to experience going up in their tethered balloon.
She was a member of the Red Hats Society; dressing in red and her favorite color; purple.
She also was a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary. During WWII, she sold war bonds.
She is preceded in death by family members and their spouses, David Hodgkins; sister, Jean Ann Talford (husband Benjamin), brothers, Thomas Lanza, Jr (wife Marian) and Frank Lanza (wife Shirley); a niece, Susan (Talford) Noel; and parents, Thomas Lanza, Sr. and Carmela (Vitale) Lanza.
She leaves behind her devoted, loving children; Rick Campbell, Debra Grande (Nicholas) and Pamela Campbell (Elliot Cancro). Nieces and nephews; Michael Talford, Benjamin Talford (Cathy),Cindy Foote (Jeff), Lori Lanza, Richard Lanza and Robert Lanza. Several grandchildren; Angie Gourley (Billy Seigars), Jordan Cancro (Aimee), Benjamin Grande, Ryan Campbell, Tyson Campbell (Sheena), Nick Grande and Jennifer Grande. Also, 3 great-grandchildren; Dominic Gourley, Anthony Cancro and Zachary Cancro.
The family would like to send a personal thank you to caregivers; Bianca Stetson and Giana Robichaud who were devoted to our mother over these past 3 years. A special thank you to Granite VNA staff for their consistent kindness and compassion. Also to her loving, kind neighbor, Ruth Corson and a special friend, Cheryl Sweeney who both were willing to step in to help at any time.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9th at 10 AM in the Chapel of the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord.
Burial will follow in the Blossom Hill Cemetery, Concord.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, 1 Elmwood Ave., Kansas City, KS 66103.E
