Duke Greg Jones, age 65, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Concord, New Hampshire, after a short illness. He was born on December 6, 1959, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Before he retired, he taught music at the following schools: Pembroke Academy, Pembrook, New Hampshire in 1986; Winnisquam Regional Middle School, Tilton, New Hampshire; and Salem High School, Salem, New Hampshire. Duke graduated from Coughlin High School Class of 1977, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and Berklee College of Music, Boston, Massachusetts, where he was on the Dean's List. He was an avid NASCAR fan, loved his cats, and was a very generous person.
Duke was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Emmert and Edna (Cumiford) Jones, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and by his brother, William (Ray) Jones of New Jersey who was born in Affinity, West Virginia. His dad was born in Hooversville, Pennsylvania; his mother was born in Elkins, West Virginia. His surviving sister is Wilberta Lynn Jones of Arlington, Virginia (Born Kopperston, West Virginia). She will miss him very much.
Duke is also survived by cousins Donna Bechtel, Akron, Ohio; Lois Good, Johnstown, Pennsylvania; Ralph Edward Allenbaugh, Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Michael Keith Allenbaugh, Muscatine, Iowa.
He loved and adored his daughter, Stephanie, and will be missed by many friends, including childhood friend, Joe Harvey of Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Robert Jepson, New Hampshire.
Duke will be buried in the family plot at Berkey Church Cemetery, Windber, Pennsylvania, where a memorial service will be held on April 26, 2025, Saturday, at 1 p.m.
