Obituary

Cora A Fontone, age 95, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2022 during a brief hospital stay.

A Concord-born resident, she married James Fontone in 1946 and moved to Staten Island, NY where she raised six children.

In 1971, the family moved back to Concord. She was employed in retail management.

Dancing was her passion. As members of the Concord Coach Squares, Cora and Jim enjoyed many evenings square dancing. She also loved camping with friends and family.

Jim was the love of her life and she was devastated by his passing in 1986.

Semi retired and widowed, Cora settled in Englewood, FL In 1992. Working part time afforded her plenty of spare time for new hobbies. She joined the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and was an active number. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed time with friends at Tiffany's square casino.

Living in sunny FL, Cora always had family visiting from up north and her favorite past time was showing them the beautiful Englewood beaches. She was in her glory when helping her children and grandchildren find beautiful shells and sharks teeth.

Cora's personality defined the word "unstoppable." There was nothing she couldn't do. Always looking for fun, she brought lots of joy and love to her family. Her family and friends have many fond memories and stories. She will be greatly miss by all.

Cora was the last surviving member of her 20 siblings.

Cora is survived by her daughters Donna Severino, Debra Youngblood, Denice Thurston, and Doris Fontone; sons David Fontone and James Fontone; and daughter in law, Rebecca Fontone; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
