Carolyn Wade, 90 of Contoocook, passed away on Friday, October 4th.

Born November 27, 1933 in Brookline, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of W. Stuart Young and Peggy Young of Wellesley Hills, MA.

Carolyn attended Smith College in Northampton MA. She loved cooking, gardening and sewing, especially creating beautiful quilts.  She loved sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee and in Casco Bay around Bustin's Island off the coast of Maine. A devout Christian, she taught Sunday School at St. Andrews Church and she regularly read scripture during services at the Contoocook United Methodist Church.

Her career included six years as assistant to US Senator Gordon Humphrey and assistant to the director of the Advanced Studies Program at St. Paul's School in Concord.

She is predeceased by her parents W. Stuart Young and Mabel (Peggy) Young as well as her first husband Donald P Jones Sr and her second husband Harold H Wade.

Carolyn is survived by her three children, Donald P Jones Jr and fiancé Martha Jak of Tucson, AZ and Joshua Tree, CA, Jeffrey S. Jones of Contoocook, NH and Alison S. McLean and husband Warren C. McLean Jr. of Pembroke, NH, as well as grandchildren Bradley S. Jones of Durango, CO, Jessica J. Jones of Montrose, CO, Nicholas D. Jones of Telluride, CO and her brother Edward D. Young of Lake City Florida.

She was a very loving mother who will live in our hearts forever.

Services will be held at Contoocook United Methodist Church, 24 Maple St. Hopkinton, NH on Friday October 11th at 10 AM. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life at a location we will identify after the service.

The family will attend a private burial at the Contoocook Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to VNA, VNA Hospice or Contoocook United Methodist Church, in the name of Carolyn Wade would be appreciated.
